FullFlo Diversified Technology Ltd. provides consulting, fabrication, training, specialized products and equipment for all aspects pertaining to pipeline pigging, cleaning and maintenance.

What is Pigging?
Pigging is the maintenance of pipelines by the practice of using pipeline inspection gauges or 'pigs' to perform various operations on a pipeline without stopping the flow of the product in the pipeline. This is accomplished by inserting the pig into a 'pig launcher' - a funnel shaped Y section in the pipeline. The launcher is then closed and the pressure of the product in the pipeline is used to push it along down the pipe until it reaches the receiving trap - the 'pig catcher'.

Pigging can be done to almost any pipe with the exception of pipelines that contains butterfly valves, which cannot be pigged. Pipes that have Ball valves cause no problems because the inside diameter of the ball can be specified to be the same as that of the pipe.

Pigging has been used for years to clean larger diameter pipelines in the oil industry. Today, however, the use of smaller diameter pigging systems is now being increasing used in many continuous and batch process plants to increased efficiencies. Pigging can be used for almost any section of the transfer process to avoid cross-contamination, or to empty the pipes into the product tanks; for example, blending, storage or filling systems. Industries already using pigging technology for handling products as diverse as lubricating oils, paints, chemicals, toiletries, and foodstuffs.

Fullflo Technology’s main focus is the oil and gas industries with specialized pigs for custom cleaning applications. Pipeline pigs were originally developed to remove deposits which could obstruct or retard flow through a pipeline but Fullflo Technologie's pigs are used during all phases in the life of a pipeline for various reasons, such as; cleaning, separating, or dewatering; provide information on the condition of the line and the extent and location of any problems.

How it Works.

The cleaning force of a pig is applied from the mechanical force between the pipe inner wall and the cleaning pig itself. This force is determined by the pig travel speed as well as by the hardness and shape of the cleaning edge: The faster the pig, the higher the cleaning impact on the deposits but at the same time only the surface of debris is scratched away. In order to reduce the number of runs required to clean a pipeline, Fullflo Technologies has developed pigs with multiple cleaning edges and brushes.
